L’Arco is a painting inspired by the Arco Clementino in Jesi, one of the main gateways to the historic city.
Built in 1734 based on a design by the architect Domenico Valeri, the arch was constructed in honor of Pope Clement XII and still represents today a symbolic point of transition between outside and inside, between city and landscape.
In the painting, the architectural structure emerges with strength but is reinterpreted through a vibrant painterly matter, which softens its rigidity and gives it a more dynamic presence. The warm tones of the stone interact with the sky and the surrounding greenery, creating a visual balance that makes the work suitable for a variety of contemporary spaces.
This is a work that introduces into a space a recognizable yet non-didactic element: a passage, a threshold, a presence.
