L’Arco is born from the idea of passage.
The Arco Clementino, built in the 18th century as a monumental entrance to the city, is here reinterpreted not only as an architectural element, but as a symbol: a point of transition between outside and inside, between landscape and urban identity.
The structure is central, almost frontal, yet the painting fragments its surface. The material breaks the historical precision and opens to a more emotional reading: what remains is not the detail, but the symbolic function of the arch.
Through the opening, the landscape can be glimpsed—suggested rather than defined. It is a space that invites passage, but also contemplation.
In this sense, the work does not simply represent a monument, but a gesture: that of entering, of crossing, of recognizing a place.
