GEOMETRIA SACRA
What happens when a perfect geometry is crossed by the freedom of gesture?
That question sits at the heart of the Geometria Sacra series, born from a fascination with the Frederician octagon and nourished by the architecture of the Silk Road, the place of my origins — a mathematical poetry in which form speaks of humanity's search for harmony between order and the universe.
Each piece begins with the rigorous construction of a geometry, which is then immersed in colour and crossed by gesture. Gold, copper and silver metal leaf, combined with plexiglass details, amplify light and reflection, turning the surface into a living, shifting visual field. The initial mark never disappears: it emerges and dissolves again through layers of matter, colour and movement.
Balance is not a static condition, but a process. Like any individual, form too carries a tension between what defines it and what pushes it to evolve.
These works do not resolve that tension. They make it visible — inviting the viewer to recognise themselves in a form, and then to move beyond it: to sense the path held within the material, and to imagine what continues beyond the edge of the canvas, beyond each of our own limits.
