Geometry of Love: When Art and Design Become One

This work was born from a vision.
It had no preliminary sketch.

It was born, first of all, from listening.

When a work is created for a client, the starting point is not necessarily an image that has already been defined. Sometimes it is an idea, an atmosphere, a sensibility to be interpreted.

For this new work, Kariné began from exactly that: from the client's idea and from the trust placed in her, allowing that vision to transform freely into her own artistic language.

The result is Geometry of Love, a work in which geometry, material and light build a visual weave conceived not only to be observed, but to enter into a relationship with the space that receives it.

A geometry built line after line

There was no finished drawing to transfer onto the canvas.

The geometry was built directly on the work, line after line, letting the mark take shape gradually.

First the mark.
Then the gold and the silver.

The metal leaf becomes an integral part of the composition: not a simple decorative element, but a surface capable of reacting to light and of continually altering the perception of the work.

The tones and shades were not chosen at random either.

Every decision was made in relation to the space intended to receive the work, entering into dialogue with the materials, the surfaces and the details of the interior.

It is precisely here that the artistic work meets Kariné's professional background in interior design.

The work is not simply placed in an environment.
It is born already in relation to it.

Art that inhabits

For Kariné, this means moving beyond the traditional distinction between the artwork and the space.

Art can become part of living without losing its own autonomy. On the contrary, it can find a new dimension in space and, at the same time, help to transform it.

The surface of the work changes with the light.
The geometries change with the point of view.
The materials dialogue with those of the environment.

So the work is never entirely the same as itself.

This is the dimension that interests Kariné: creating works able to live within a space, entering into a relationship with those who inhabit it and with everything that surrounds it.

Geometry of Love

The title comes from precisely this idea:

Geometry of Love — a weave woven over time, where every line leads to the next.

A geometry that is not only form, but relationship.

Between mark and material.
Between gold and light.
Between the work and the architecture.
Between the client's idea and the artist's freedom.

And, above all, between the work and the person looking at it.

Because the light keeps transforming it every time it is observed.

Geometry of Love has recently been delivered to its client.

For Kariné, however, the end of the creative process does not coincide with delivery.

It is the moment when the work begins a new life.

The one in the space it was conceived for.
